Connect Retool

Connect looot to a Retool Agent as an MCP server resource.

RetoolNot tested by hand yet

MCP over Streamable HTTP at https://api.looot.ai/mcp

Retool Agents can call remote MCP servers. The server is stored as a Retool resource, reusable across agents. An agent can hold up to 20 MCP servers, with a 2 minute tool timeout and a 1 MB output cap.

Before you start you need a looot account. The runs you make spend the organization’s balance, so top up before your first paid run. See Before your first run.

Steps

  1. Open the agent’s Configuration tab and click Add new tool, then Connect to MCP Server.
  2. In Select MCP Server, click Add new resource.
  3. Name it looot and enter the URL https://api.looot.ai/mcp.
  4. Choose OAuth 2.0 (Authorization Code with PKCE) for authentication and save.
  5. Pick the new resource, then sign in when Retool asks.

The server URL is https://api.looot.ai/mcp.

Sign-in

Retool supports OAuth 2.0 (Authorization Code with PKCE by default, or Client Credentials), basic auth and bearer tokens. Use Authorization Code so you sign in on looot.ai and pick the organization to bill.

Check it works

Ask Retool to call balance or catalog_overview. Both are free. A working connection answers with your available balance, or the catalog’s categories and job counts.

A first prompt to try

Ask looot for my balance, then search its catalog for a tool that finds a work email from a name and company domain, and show me the price before running anything.

Troubleshooting

  • Only remote MCP servers work in Retool, which suits looot.
  • A run longer than 2 minutes is cut off by Retool. Long async jobs return a run id; ask the agent to check the run later.
  • Results over 1 MB are capped. Ask for fewer rows.
  • Still stuck: see Troubleshooting.

What you see when you connect

If the client uses browser sign-in, it opens looot.ai and shows the consent page: which organization to bill, which scopes to grant and how long to stay connected. See The consent page.
