Scrape Creators API / Transcript

ScrapeCreators tool scrapecreators-youtube-video-transcript on looot: input fields, $0.00188 per call, output shape, and code to run it with curl, JavaScript or Python.

Retrieves the captions, subtitles, or transcript of a YouTube video or Short. Returns both a timestamped transcript array with start/end times and a plain-text version in transcript_only_text. Supports specifying a language code. There is no two-minute limit for YouTube. Long videos, including podcasts, work when YouTube exposes public captions. If no matching caption track is available, the transcript fields return null.

Inputs

Name Type Required Description
cache_max_age string no If we have a response in the cache that is this many days old or newer, return the cached response (0 credits, with “cached”: true and a “cached_at” timestamp). Otherwise, scrape a live result (1 credit). See the Caching page for details.
language string no 2 letter language code, ie ‘en’, ‘es’, ‘fr’ etc. If the transcript is not available in the language you specify, the transcript will be null.
url string yes YouTube video or short URL. Example: “https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=example”

Output

The run’s result holds the provider’s answer. Signed in, looot inspect scrapecreators-youtube-video-transcript prints its fields.

Run it

Every call needs your API token in LOOOT_TOKEN; Sign in shows how to get one. Each run also needs a new idempotency key, so a retry never pays twice. With wait: 30 the answer comes back inline when the run ends within 30 seconds. Otherwise you get the running run back: poll GET /v1/runs/<runId>.

Example input with placeholder values:

curl -X POST "https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $LOOOT_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: $(uuidgen)" \
  -d '{"endpointId":"scrapecreators-youtube-video-transcript","input":{"url":"<url>"},"wait":30}'
const response = await fetch("https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs", {
  method: "POST",
  headers: {
    Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.LOOOT_TOKEN}`,
    "Content-Type": "application/json",
    "Idempotency-Key": crypto.randomUUID(),
  },
  body: JSON.stringify({
    endpointId: "scrapecreators-youtube-video-transcript",
    input: {
      url: "<url>",
    },
    wait: 30,
  }),
});
const run = await response.json();
console.log(run.status, run.result);
import os
import uuid

import requests

response = requests.post(
    "https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs",
    headers={
        "Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['LOOOT_TOKEN']}",
        "Idempotency-Key": str(uuid.uuid4()),
    },
    json={
        "endpointId": "scrapecreators-youtube-video-transcript",
        "input": {
            "url": "<url>",
        },
        "wait": 30,
    },
    timeout=90,
)
run = response.json()
print(run["status"], run.get("result"))

To let looot pick among every provider of this job instead, send job:video.transcript.get as endpointId; see the job page.
