The Google Rank Tracking API provides programmatic access to track ranking positions on Google Search for specific keywords. This API returns up to 100 organic search results, allowing you to monitor your website's ranking positions over time. **Key Features:** - Returns up to 100 organic results (configurable with `num` parameter) - Supports desktop and mobile devices - Supports location-based searches - Works across all Google domains and languages **Cross-linking**: This API is optimized for rank tracking and returns only organic results. For comprehensive search results including featured snippets, knowledge graph, ads, etc., use the regular Google Search API.

- **Tool id:** `searchapi-io-google-rank-tracking`
- **Provider:** [SearchAPI.io](/providers/searchapi-io)
- **Job:** [Google rank tracking search](/reference/jobs/search-google-rank-tracking) (`search.google-rank-tracking`)
- **Price:** $0.004 per call. A call that fails at the provider costs $0.

## Inputs

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `device` | string | no |   |
| `engine` | string | no | Fixed to "google_rank_tracking" for this endpoint. Example: "google_rank_tracking" |
| `gl` | string | no |   |
| `hl` | string | no |   |
| `location` | string | no |   |
| `lr` | string | no |   |
| `num` | integer | no |   |
| `page` | integer | no |   |
| `q` | string | yes |   |
| `safe` | string | no |   |
| `uule` | string | no |   |

## Output

The run's `result` holds the provider's answer. Signed in, `looot inspect searchapi-io-google-rank-tracking` prints its fields.

## Run it

Every call needs your API token in `LOOOT_TOKEN`; [Sign in](/get-started/sign-in#use-the-token-in-scripts-and-agents) shows how to get one. Each run also needs a new idempotency key, so a retry never pays twice. With `wait: 30` the answer comes back inline when the run ends within 30 seconds. Otherwise you get the running run back: poll `GET /v1/runs/<runId>`.

Example input with placeholder values:

<CodeGroup>

```bash curl
curl -X POST "https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs" \
  -d '{"endpointId":"searchapi-io-google-rank-tracking","input":{"q":"<q>","engine":"google_rank_tracking"},"wait":30}'
```

```js JavaScript
const response = await fetch("https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs", {
  method: "POST",
  headers: {
    Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.LOOOT_TOKEN}`,
    "Content-Type": "application/json",
    wait: 30,
  }),
});
const run = await response.json();
console.log(run.status, run.result);
```

```python Python
import requests
response = requests.post(
    "https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs",
        "Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['LOOOT_TOKEN']}",
        "Idempotency-Key": str(uuid.uuid4()),
    },
    timeout=90,
)
run = response.json()
print(run["status"], run.get("result"))
To let looot pick among every provider of this job instead, send `job:search.google-rank-tracking` as `endpointId`; see [the job page](/reference/jobs/search-google-rank-tracking).
