Submit up to 5,000 rows for one task (email-search, email-verification or domain-search) in a single call. Async: returns a file id; poll its progress with icypeas-search-files-read (or icypeas-search-results-read with mode=bulk) until finished, then read every row's result. Not in the fixed capability vocabulary -- closest fit is a bulk contacts search/verify job.

- **Tool id:** `icypeas-bulk-search`
- **Provider:** [Icypeas](/providers/icypeas)
- **Job:** [Bulk search people contacts](/reference/jobs/people-contacts-bulk-search) (`people.contacts.bulk-search`)
- **Price:** $0.019 per call. A call that fails at the provider costs $0.

## Inputs

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `custom` | object | no | Optional bulk-level tracking and webhooks. |
| `data` | array | yes | One row per item. email-search: [firstname, lastname, domainOrCompany] (firstname or lastname required). email-verification: [email]. domain-search: [domainOrCompany]. Max 5,000 rows. |
| `name` | string | yes | Your own label for this bulk search, shown in the Icypeas dashboard. |
| `task` | string | yes | Which single-endpoint operation to run for every row. |

## Output

Shape of the run's `result`, checked against 3 real answers:

```txt
{ file, status, success, validationErrors: { type, field, actual, message, expected, humanReadableMessage }[] }
```

## Run it

Every call needs your API token in `LOOOT_TOKEN`; [Sign in](/get-started/sign-in#use-the-token-in-scripts-and-agents) shows how to get one. Each run also needs a new idempotency key, so a retry never pays twice. With `wait: 30` the answer comes back inline when the run ends within 30 seconds. Otherwise you get the running run back: poll `GET /v1/runs/<runId>`.

Example input with placeholder values:

```bash curl
curl -X POST "https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $LOOOT_TOKEN" \
  -d '{"endpointId":"icypeas-bulk-search","input":{"name":"Jane Doe","task":"<task>","data":[["John","Doe","icypeas.com"]]},"wait":30}'
```

```js JavaScript
const response = await fetch("https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs", {
  method: "POST",
  headers: {
});
const run = await response.json();
console.log(run.status, run.result);
To let looot pick among every provider of this job instead, send `job:people.contacts.bulk-search` as `endpointId`; see [the job page](/reference/jobs/people-contacts-bulk-search).
