Endpoint specially designed for platforms that want to identify transaction data by the transaction title.

- **Tool id:** `context-dev-brand-transaction-identifier`
- **Provider:** [Context.dev](/providers/context-dev)
- **Job:** [Transaction identifier brand](/reference/jobs/brand-transaction-identifier) (`brand.transaction-identifier`)
- **Price:** $0.025 per call. A call that fails at the provider costs $0.

## Inputs

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| `city` | string | no | Optional city name to prioritize when searching for the brand. |
| `country_gl` | string | no | Two-letter ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code (GL parameter) used to localize search. |
| `force_language` | string | no |   |
| `high_confidence_only` | boolean | no | When set to true, the API will perform an additional verification steps to ensure the identified brand matches the transaction with high confidence. |
| `maxSpeed` | boolean | no | Optional parameter to optimize the API call for maximum speed. When set to true, the API will skip time-consuming operations for faster response at the cost of less comprehensive data. |
| `mcc` | string | no | Optional Merchant Category Code (MCC) to help identify the business category/industry. |
| `phone` | string | no | Optional phone number from the transaction to help verify brand match. |
| `tags` | array | no | Optional tags for tracking usage. Up to 20 tags, each 1 to 50 characters. |
| `timeoutMS` | integer | no | Optional timeout in milliseconds for the request. If the request takes longer than this value, it will be aborted with a 408 status code. Maximum allowed value is 300000ms (5 minutes). |
| `transaction_info` | string | yes | Transaction information to identify the brand |

## Output

Shape of the run's `result`, checked against 1 real answer:

```txt
{ code, brand: { email, links: { blog, terms, careers, contact, pricing, privacy }, logos: { url, mode, type, colors: { ... }[], resolution: { ... } }[], title, colors: { hex, name, source }[], domain, slogan, address: { city, street, country, state_code, postal_code, country_code, state_province }, is_nsfw, socials: { url, type }[], backdrops: { url, colors: { ... }[], resolution: { ... } }[], employees: { exact, range }, industries: { eic: { ... }[] }, description, primary_language }, status, request_id, key_metadata: { credits_consumed, credits_remaining }, cache_metadata: { age_ms, status ... ...
```

The shape is cut here. Signed in, `looot inspect context-dev-brand-transaction-identifier` prints all of it.

## Run it

Every call needs your API token in `LOOOT_TOKEN`; [Sign in](/get-started/sign-in#use-the-token-in-scripts-and-agents) shows how to get one. Each run also needs a new idempotency key, so a retry never pays twice. With `wait: 30` the answer comes back inline when the run ends within 30 seconds. Otherwise you get the running run back: poll `GET /v1/runs/<runId>`.

Example input with placeholder values:

<CodeGroup>

```bash curl
curl -X POST "https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $LOOOT_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -H "Idempotency-Key: $(uuidgen)" \
  -d '{"endpointId":"context-dev-brand-transaction-identifier","input":{"transaction_info":"<transaction_info>","tags":["production","team-alpha"]},"wait":30}'
```

```js JavaScript
const response = await fetch("https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs", {
  method: "POST",
  headers: {
    Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.LOOOT_TOKEN}`,
    "Content-Type": "application/json",
    "Idempotency-Key": crypto.randomUUID(),
  },
  body: JSON.stringify({
    endpointId: "context-dev-brand-transaction-identifier",
    input: {
      transaction_info: "<transaction_info>",
      tags: ["production", "team-alpha"],
    },
    wait: 30,
  }),
});
const run = await response.json();
console.log(run.status, run.result);
```

```python Python
import os
import uuid
import requests
response = requests.post(
    "https://api.looot.ai/v1/runs",
    headers={
        "Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['LOOOT_TOKEN']}",
        "Idempotency-Key": str(uuid.uuid4()),
    },
    json={
    timeout=90,
)
run = response.json()
To let looot pick among every provider of this job instead, send `job:brand.transaction-identifier` as `endpointId`; see [the job page](/reference/jobs/brand-transaction-identifier).
