:::note
These steps follow the client's own MCP documentation, linked in Sources below. looot has not tested them in this client yet. If a step fails, tell us on the [support page](/support).
:::

LibreChat is a self-hosted chat app. You declare MCP servers in `librechat.yaml`, then restart. LibreChat handles OAuth, token storage and refresh per user.

Before you start you need a looot account. The runs you make spend the organization's balance, so
top up before your first paid run. See [Before your first run](/money#before-your-first-run).

## Steps

1. Open `librechat.yaml` on your server.
2. Add the server under `mcpServers`.
3. Restart LibreChat. Open a chat, enable the looot server from the MCP menu and sign in when asked.

```yaml
mcpServers:
  looot:
    type: streamable-http
    url: https://api.looot.ai/mcp
    timeout: 60000
    initTimeout: 15000
```

The server URL is `https://api.looot.ai/mcp`.

## Sign-in

LibreChat runs the OAuth flow itself. The callback URL it registers is `${DOMAIN_SERVER}/api/mcp/looot/oauth/callback`, built from your `DOMAIN_SERVER` value, so that value must be the public address users reach. Each user signs in on looot.ai and picks the organization to bill. Do not add an `Authorization` header unless you want one shared agent token for everyone.

## Check it works

Ask LibreChat to call [`balance`](/mcp-tools/balance) or [`catalog_overview`](/mcp-tools/catalog-overview). Both are free. A working connection answers
with your available balance, or the catalog's categories and job counts.

## A first prompt to try

```text
Ask looot for my balance, then search its catalog for a tool that finds a work email from a name and company domain, and show me the price before running anything.
```

## Troubleshooting

- Callback fails: `DOMAIN_SERVER` does not match the address in the browser.
- Server not listed: the YAML key must be `mcpServers`, indentation is two spaces, and the app needs a restart.
- Tool calls time out on slow runs: raise `timeout`.
- Still stuck: see [Troubleshooting](/connect/troubleshooting).

## What you see when you connect

If the client uses browser sign-in, it opens looot.ai and shows the consent page: which organization to bill,
which scopes to grant and how long to stay connected. See [The consent page](/connect#the-consent-page).
